BLOG 8 - English Lenguage Challenges

 

Learning English at university has been a fairly new experience, of which I did not know what to expect, the truth more than anything has been to speak and that is the best way to learn. In the university we use blogs to talk about topics that they give us, the truth is that many have seemed entertaining, especially the part where you read those of your classmates, that way I feel that we have a closer communication and I know a little about more about them.

I think that what I need to improve the most about my English is writing, it has always been a complicated part for me, more than anything because in English words are not read as they are written so I always have problems knowing which letter is and which is not. . I think that to improve is only practice, maybe a good way to improve is to read and read in English. Which I like to do, but when I deal with things like dictation I always have problems specifically with vowels, it's not as difficult as it was a few years ago, but there are still words that complicate me.

English is something that I use commonly, my brother tries to be more fluent in English so in my house we speak in English every day and at all times to put ourselves to the test. At the same time I have the habit of watching movies in English without subtitles. Speaking English is very important to me, because I feel that it is something that can help me in many areas of life.

BLOG 7 - Changes to my study program

 

Speaking of the changes it would make to my career. I think that, regarding the mesh, at least in this university it is super well divided, with the idea that we learn from less to more. One of the things that would change is having the possibility of having experiences close to postgraduate degrees in the first 2 years of the degree, although there were a few classes. It would also be good if English and the CFGs started together with the rest of the subjects, so that one does not get lost with the general calendar that is sent.

I believe that the years that the degree lasts are adequate, the academic load personally I feel that in certain instances it is too much, but at the same time I believe that I cannot speak in general since I imagine that the online experience is different from the real experience of being in the university. Something that I also think is very important that the communication between teachers of the same semester should be implemented and in that way being able to coordinate the dates of evaluation or assignments in a better way.

I cannot say much about the infrastructure of the university since hopefully I have been at the entrance of the faculty. The use of technology is very good, the truth is that the U-courses platform is like a lifesaver, however, due to the pandemic, I have begun to feel rejection of technology. Regarding the teaching methods, I think it is a bit difficult for me at first to understand what teachers are like, which is important to understand the field, but after you get used to it it is easier. I also greatly admire how most professionals are willing to answer questions and do their best to adapt.
